DON’T FLUSH WIPES DUE TO VIRUS
People cleaning to avoid the new virus should not flush disinfectant wipes, rags or paper towels down toilets as they clog drains, back up sewers, and can cause overflows at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The wipes do not break down like toilet paper and can catch in the sewer line and collect grease and other debris becoming large enough to create a blockage and back up the sewer into residences or spill onto the ground.
Preventing sewer spills is important especially during this Covid – 19 emergency.
